70’s Teen Idol David Cassidy In Critical Condition Due To Organ Failure

Multiple Sources are reporting that David Cassidy,67, is suffering from liver and kidney failure. He’s in critical condition at a Florida hospital, surrounded by his ex wife Sue Cassidy, a son, and half brother Patrick Cassidy. The former 70’s heartthrob  is hoping to receive a liver transplant, but insiders are saying he may be too weak to even have any type of transplant. Cassidy rose to fame in 1970 playing oldest child Keith Partridge on the sitcom ‘The Partridge Family.’ He co-stared along with Shirley Jones, his then step mother who was married to his father actor Jack Cassidy.

The show ran for four seasons on ABC, with Cassidy and Jones being the only members of the cast who actually sang on the albums the group released. The show made Cassidy an international star with throngs of female fans around the world. Another brother Shawn Cassidy is in route to Florida to be by his older brother’s side. The two starred together on Broadway in the highly successful play ‘Blood Brothers’ in the 90’s. Cassidy has been in and out of a coma, but is said to be conscience currently. He’s on heavy pain medication to be comfortable.

Cassidy was diagnosed with dementia last year, his mother actress Evelyn Ward died of the disease in 2010. The singer and actor has had a problematic life due to drugs and alcohol. He’s been arrested four times for DUI and in 2015 he was charged with ‘hit and run’. Cassidy has a daughter, 30 year old actress Katie Cassidy with his third wife Sherry Williams. A source at the Florida hospital Cassidy is in, said “it’s looking very grim”, and advised the family ‘to prepare for the worst.’ According to sources Cassidy’s health started to take a drastic turn two months ago.
