Actor Ryan Phillippe Badly Injures Leg Stops Filming Of Season 2 Of ‘Shooter’

Ryan Phillippe let his fans know that he badly injured his leg and it didn’t happen on the set of his USA show ‘Shooter’. The producers decided to end season 2 of the top rated show after eight shows, instead of ten. The show released a statement,” Our priority is Ryan’s recovery, and after conversations with our partners at USA and UCP we’ve decided that we will wrap season 2 with episode 208.” Phillippe tweeted, “I didn’t injure myself doing a stunt or anywhere near the set of ‘Shooter’. I was the victim of a freak accident during a family outing on Sunday.”

Phillippe,42, also said his leg is badly injured and he needs surgery, but he will recover and be back soon. He didn’t disclose who he was with, or how exactly the accident happened. The actor was formally married to actress Reese Witherspoon, for eight years. The former couple have two children, Ava,17 and Decon, 13. He also has a daughter Kailani, 6, with former girlfriend model Alexis Knapp. Phillippe and Witherspoon announced their divorce shortly after the actress won an Academy Award for her performance as ‘June Carter Cash’ in ‘Walk The Line’ in 2006.

Phillippe plays a decorated marine veteran  that is brought back into action to prevent a plot to kill the president. His character is a vet of the Afghanistan War. He spoke about his part on the ‘Today Show’ he said it’s not a retelling of the 2007 movie with Mark Wahlberg. The actor said he worked a lot with real marines to fine tune his character. He is also an ambassador  for ‘’. It’s a organization that helps military caregivers. It offers resources, information,funding and support for the people that take care of injured vets.
