Actress Katherine Heigl of ‘Greys Anatomy’ was forced to make a public apology after her own pictures caused sharp criticism. The actress was visiting a cemetery in Buffalo, New York over the weekend. She found the plots of her relatives and posed for pictures with the headstones and posted them to ‘Instagram.’ The mother of three addressed the controversy, she said, “I noticed on my Instagram page, that the post I posted earlier was getting a lot of reaction. I realized you guys were right. It was not appropriate and it was disrespectful and I’ve taken it down.”
The actress tried to defend her actions by saying, that it’s a very difficult experience to visit a cemetery. She was trying to put a positive spin on an overall difficult experience, but it backfired. She tried to make it clear, that by posting the pictures she wasn’t trying to offend anyone, but it memorized her own experience. Heigl said, “It’s kind of a heavy thing to go visit my loved ones’ graves, and I decided to find moments of levity and humor and didn’t realize how inappropriate I was being.” The actress continued her apology.
She said, “I deeply apologize and I thank you guys for understanding that sometimes I don’t think things through clearly enough and I thank you guys for your impute and for giving me a heads up when I’m maybe going too far. And thank you for forgiving me. Next time I will be more thoughtful about other people’s feelings not just my own.” Heigl was visiting the cemetery with her husband singer Josh Kelley. One of the pictures Heigl posted was of her late brother Jason Heigl who died at 16 in 1986 from injuries he suffered in a car accident. Heigl’s last acting gig was the TV show ‘Doubt’, in 2017, it was canceled after 2 episodes due to very low ratings.
