Actress, writer/director, and creator of the hit HBO show ‘Girls’ Lena Dunham and boyfriend of five years Jack Antonoff have ended their relationship. Antonoff, is a musician and record producer best known as the lead singer of ‘Bleachers’. Dunham,31, and Antonoff,33, were last seen publicly together in October of 2017. They started officially dating in 2012, and Antonoff was always seen at Dunham’s side during her many award show appearances. Back in October Dunham wrote an essay for ‘Variety’ about her relationship with her boyfriend.
She wrote, “It’s safe to say that before Jack, my life was full of far few sights. He showed me the importance of making political statements using your public platform. He showed me the joy of collaboration. He showed me the magic of his his home state of New Jersey, and turned the butt of my snotty New Yorker jokes into a glimmering fantasy and. I know he does the same for all the artists he produces for, the fans who come to his shows, and the recipients of his love. I try and share nicely.”
Some friends of the best selling author are suggesting that Antonoff was dragging his feet when it came to proposing to Dunham. The source further noted that Dunham thought Antonoff might have proposed to her in November, and when that didn’t happen she was gravely disappointed. At the time she publicly wrote on social media that Jack was furtively planning a proposal to me with his sister, And he admitted to me that I actually caught him talking ***t about he me. I can’t sleep cuz I’m laughing so hard, 5.5 years and no rock and it’s just not nice.” A friend of Lena’s said when Jack didn’t propose that was the beginning of the end for the two of them.
