Much has been made about President Elect Donald Trumps business ties and possible conflict of interests. Well one of those interests is now semi taken care of. There is a new boss in town at the long running hit show’ The Apprentice’. The show that Donald Trump made famous over a decade ago, made it’s premier on NBC Monday with a two hour show that included a celebrity cast.
Trump still remains the executive producer of the show, but there were some very obvious changes. One of the biggest being the show is now being filmed in California, as Arnold tells his cast, “California is where everything happened for me, so it’s only fitting that the show should now be filmed here.” Schwarzenenegger who will be 70 in July told his sort of all star cast that in the board room he wants to be called ‘Governor’.
As Trump used to have his children as advisers on the show, Arnold has his nephew Patrick Schwarzenenegger who is a successful business attorney, and super model Tyra Banks. The cast includes some notable figures from sports and entertainment including pop icon Boy George, actor Jon Lovitz, professional basketball player Lisa Leslie, Motely Crew singer Vince Neil, Snookie from the Jersey Shore , former host of Dancing With The Stars, Brooke Burke-Charvet, to name a few. The cast split up into two teams, one with the women cast members the other with the men.
The assignment was to create a short commercial for Banks’ new makeup line. The men won the task, which meant that one of the women was the first to be cut. It was Carrie Keagen, a self proclaimed Youtube star. Time and ratings will tell if Arnold can deliver what Trump once did, the viewers will decide the show’s fate, as Arnold now ‘terminates’ people.
