Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner Are Official Divorced Three Years After Separating

Late Friday afternoon a private Los Angeles County judge arrived at the Pacific Palisades home of actress Jennifer Garner. Her soon to be ex-husband Ben Affleck had already arrived and was waiting. The actor fresh out of an in-patient rehab faculty seemed to be in good spurts according to a source who was there. The couple had legally separated in 2015, and have two daughters and a son together. The details of the custody agreement have been released by TMZ.

Due to Affleck’s long documented issues with alcohol the custody agreement allows certain aspects of the custody to be closely motioned by the court. The ex couple will have joint legal custody of the three minor children, giving both parents. One of the reasons the finalizing of the divorce took over three years, was Affleck being on and off the bottle. Garner did not want to make any final agreements with Affleck, until he was clean and stable. The physical custody of the children have been a slippery slope to deal with. Most of the time the children spend will be with their mother for now. According to the agreement, Affleck will have to have a court appointed monitor with him when he sees his children.

Garner demanded that for now, so that when their father is with his children, their safety can be guaranteed. The oldest children 12 and 9, will also have a say in how much time they want to spend with their father according to the custody agreement. Sam the couple’s youngest child is 6, and will have a voice when he is older. The couple who are both 46, had been married for 10 years. Their combined worth is estimated to be in access of $190 million dollars. The money the pair made after 2015 will not be split, Affleck made 46 million for his 2016 role in ‘Batman’, and is worth over $130 million alone.
