‘Big Brother’ Host Julie Chen Defends Her Husband After Sexual Harassment Claims Surface

Julie Chen the host of ‘Big Brother’ and the daytime talk show ‘The Talk’ is defending her husband. Chen has been married 14 years to one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, Les Moonves. Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ronan Farrow, broke the story in ‘The New Yorker Magazine late Friday. Moonves is the CEO of CBS, the article alleges that six different women have come forward to accuse the former actor of sexual harassment. Farrow is the son of actress Mia Farrow, was also responsible for former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein’s fall from grace.

Chen issued a statement that read, “I’ve known my husband Leslie Moonves since the late 90’s, and I’ve been married to him for almost 14 years. Leslie is a good man and a loving father, devoted husband and inspiring corporate leader. He has always been kind, decent and moral human being. I fully support my husband and stand behind his statement.” Chen married Moonves, who is 20 years her senior in 2004, and have one son, Charlie,8. Moonves’ ex wife Nancy Wisenfed alleged that Chen started dating her husband in 2000 when he was still married to her. After she heard about the affair she said at the time she filed for divorce. They were divorced in 2003.

CBC for their part said they take the allegations and against Moonves very seriously and are investigating all claims. Actress Illeana Douglas, was one of the women named in the article, claims that Moonves made unwanted sexual advances towards her many times. When she would not acquiesce to his demands, he had her fired from a CBS show she was set to appear on. There are at least 20 other women, that are making similar claims against Moonves and the network, they described working at ‘CBS’ as ‘toxic’. Moonves is denying he had anyone fired due to these allegations, and says all of the allegations are false.
