Singer Bobby Brown, 48, pulled out of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ only hours before he was to report to rehearsals for the ABC show. A source connected with the show, told ‘Us Magazine’ that the singer was committed to season 25 of the highly rated show, but for explained reasons, was a ‘no show’. The only celebrity at this hour firmly committed to the show is reality star Drew Scott of ‘Property Brothers’. Scott and his professional partner Emma Slater were on ‘Good Morning America’ to announce the pairing.
Scott said he’s very athletic and into sports, but he’s never danced before. He said he’s done two rehearsals already, and everything went well. He wants to get Slater ‘another mirror ball’, since she won last season. Scott,39, is a black belt in Karate, he believes that will give him ‘an edge’ during competition. Brown who was with the boy band ‘New Edition’ from 1978 to 1985 at one time was a stand out dancer. Fans were excited to see what the ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston could do on the show.
A source with the show surmised that maybe Brown hasn’t fully recovered from the loss of his and Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown,22. She died in hospice care in Georgia on July 26, 2015 after being in a coma for six months. When a representative was asked for the reason Brown pulled out of the show, a ‘no comment’ was issued. In the pro corner, fan favorite Mark Ballas will return to the show this season after a two year absence. Ballas starred on Broadway in the show ‘Jersey Boys’, during his absence from the show. Alan Bersten who was formerly the troupe director of ‘DWTS’ will make his debut this season as a full time professional dancer.
