Brad Pitt & Leonardo DeCaprio To Star In New Movie About Charles Manson

Actors Brad Pitt and Leonardo DeCaprio are set to start filming a new film about the late murderer Charles Manson. The one time cult leader died of a heart attack on November 19th, 2017 at the age of 83. The new film is being directed by Quentin Tarantino and is titled ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’. The director told ‘Variety’ that he has been working on the script for over five years. The film is being produced by ‘Sony Pictures’. It takes place at the height of ‘hippy Hollywood’ in 1969. DeCaprio will play Rick Dalton, an actor who was famous for western films.

Pitt will portray Rick Dalton’s friend and stunt double, Cliff Booth. Dalton lived next door to Sharon Tate in 1969. Tate was one of the victims of Manson’s crime spree in 1969. Tate famous for the film,’Valley of The Dolls’. She was the wife of director Roman Polanski and was 8 months pregnant when she was murdered at 26.Tarantino says the film will focus on the lives of Dalton and Booth, and their quest to continue to thrive in Hollywood. Tarantino said he has lived most of his life in Los Angeles, including 1969, when Manson started his decent into madness.

The director said, “I’m very excited to tell this story about and a Hollywood that doesn’t exist anymore.
I couldn’t be happier by the pairing of Pitt and DeCaprio as Rick and Cliff.” The film is set to hit theaters on August 9, 2019, the 50th anniversary of Tate’s murder. Both actors have worked with the director on past films. Pitt starred in ‘Inglourious Basterds’ in 2009. DeCaprio starred in the director’s ‘Django Unchained’ in 2012. Actress Margot Robbie is set to play Sharon Tate, no word yet on who will play Charles Manson.
