Carrie Fisher’s Only Child Actress Billie Lourd Set To Inherit Estate Worth 7 Million

The late actress Carrie Fisher who died on December 27, 2016 after losing consciousness on a flight from London to LA, left behind one daughter Billie Lourd, 25. The last 8 months have been a series of legal maneuvers over Carrie Fisher’s assets, and who gets what. Fisher’s mother, iconic actress Debbie Reynolds died one day after her famous daughter at the age of 84. Lourd, Fisher’s only child stands to inherit her mother’s entire estate. She may have to split her grandmother’s estate with her uncle Todd Fisher, Debbie’s son.

According to legal documents filed in Los Angeles today by the executor of Fisher’s estate, Lourd is the lone heir to Fisher’s estate, worth close to 7 million dollars. Although Fisher had appeared in the latest ‘Star Wars’ film, her estate by Hollywood standards is relatively modest. When taken into account that the last ‘Star Wars’ film grossed over two billion dollars, some speculated that Fisher was worth many millions more. Fisher’s death followed a massive heart attack she suffered during the flight from London to LA. Although Fisher claimed to be a recovering addict, her toxicology report reflected many illicit drugs in her system including cocaine and methamphetamine and heroin.

Fisher was 60 at the time of her death, and Lourd her only child by talent agent Bryan Lourd, whom Fisher briefly dated. The relationship ended when Lourd started dating a man.  In addition to drugs and alcohol, Fisher also suffered a series of mental health issues, including bi-polar diastase. Fisher was also romantically involved with folk singer Paul Simon from 1977 to 1983.  Fisher was very involved in many charitable causes, including animal rights, and LGBT causes. According to the legal documents filed today, no one is contesting Fisher’s will, the funds of which will be allocated to Lourd in September.
