Actor Channing Tatum is anxious to get back to work after having a very quiet year in Hollywood.
The actor was at the premier for the animated film ‘Smallfoot’, he provides the voice for ‘Migo’. This was his only film credit in 2018. The ‘Magic Mike’ star said, “I have a kid man, that is the biggest job I have.” He continued, “I’m sort of ready to go back to work. I don’t know what I’m ready to do yet, as far as what it is. It could be acting, directing,producing or writing.”
The father of daughter Everly,5, with ex-wife Jenna Dewan joked, “Maybe I’ll start interviewing people. I don’t know I have no clue what I’m going to do, but I’m having fun though. Basketball player LeBron James also provides a voice for ‘Smallfoot’, Tatum said working with LeBron was not something he would have ever predicted happening. Of the athlete Tatum said, “I love him, everybody loves LeBron for their own reasons. He’s just an insanely smart person. We talked at length about the studies they did with his school.”
Tatum and Jenna Dewan separated in April after 9 years of marriage, Tatum was referencing LeBron’s new private school he funded and opened over the summer called the ‘I Promise School’ for 3rd and 4th graders in Akron, Ohio. Tatum asked LeBron why the school is only for 3rd and 4th graders. James said those are the important years, if you can grab their attention during those years, give them the idea of how important learning is, those roots will stay with them all the way to college and beyond. Tatum said he’s never met someone quite as smart as LeBron James. Tatum said, “That guy is incredible, he can literally do anything.” ‘Smallfoot’ hits theaters around the country on September 28th.
