Dancing With The Stars Cheryl Burke Engaged To Actor Matthew Lawrence

Cheryl Burke of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ has announced that she became engaged on her 34th birthday to actor, Matthew Lawrence. The two dated previously in 2007, but rekindled the relationship a few years ago. Lawrence designed the ring himself, using a stone that was in the engagement ring Burke’s father Steve gave to her mother. Burke’s father Steve Burke died in March of 2018. The dancer said ‘there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of him, so this ring is very special.’

Burke spoke of her relationship with Lawrence in April saying, “I think we have a really good companionship and I think we just built from there. That’s the most important thing, that we can actually hang out. When we go away together we really enjoy it, when it’s just the two of us, it’s the best.” The professional dancer said her and Lawrence just like spending time together at home watching ‘Homeland.’ No make up no other people just the two of us alone together spending quality time together.’ This will be the first marriage for both of them, although Burke has had some high profile relationships.

Burke had a long term relationship with J.T. Torregiani, she also dated actor, Josh Hopkins. She dated professional hockey player Joffrey Lupul in 2012. Lawrence’s older brother actor Joey Lawrence appeared on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ in 2006, that is when Matthew met Burke. The dancer’s father Steve died im March shortly before his 68th birthday. Burke has said in the past that she was estranged from her father after her parents split up when she was a toddler. She said she reconnected with him only after he became ill. Her mother remarried in 1993 to a man named Bob Wolfe. Burke has said that she considered Wolfe her father and called him,’dad’.
