Daniel Craig To Star As ‘James Bond’ For A 5th Time

Actor Daniel Craig has signed on to play ‘James Bond’ for a 5th time in the 25th installment of the film.
The producing team of the film, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli announced the news. British actor Craig first started playing the M16 agent 15 years ago in ‘Casino Royle’. He followed that performance in 2008 with ‘Quantum of Solace’. He stared in ‘Skyfall’ in 2012 and ‘Spectre’ in 2015. Signing on as director is Danny Boyle, who directed ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘Steve Jobs’. The film will be based on an original screenplay by, John Hodge.

The producers released an official statement,”We are delighted to announce that the exceptionally talented Danny Boyle will be directing Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as James Bond, in the 25th installment of the franchise. We will begin shooting Bond 25 at the Pinewood Studios in London in December 2018 with our partners at MGM. We are thrilled Universal Pictures will be our international distributors.” Craig had given off several mixed messages when he was asked in prior interviews whether he would play the Bond role again.

In October of 2015 he told ‘Time Out’ Magazine, “I’d rather break this glass and slash my writs. No, no not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment, We’re done, all I want to do is move on.” He sounded like he changed his tune when he appeared on ‘The Stephen Colbert Show’ last August. He said, “I think this may be my last time, I want to go out on a high note.” Speaking about how the Bond films are actually made, Craig said, ‘of course there are special effects used in the film. But we like to keep it real by using as ‘many real things as possible’. Like the helicopters are real, and I do many of my own stunts.
