David Cassidy Of ‘Partridge Family Fame’ Dead At 67 After Suffering Organ Failure

David Cassidy died late Tuesday November 21st in a Florida hospital, he was 67. The former 1970’s teen heartthrob died only days after he was admitted to a Ft Launderdale hospital suffering from liver and kidney failure. He was placed in an induced coma shortly after being admitted to manage the severe pain he had. His family started to arrive at the hospital shortly after he was admitted to the hospital. He was transferred to ICU on Sunday as his condition continued to worsen.

The family had hoped Cassidy would receive a liver transplant, but shortly after he was admitted doctors advised the family he was too weak for a transplant. The Cassidy family issued a statement shortly after the actor passed away. The statement read in part,”On behalf the of the Cassidy family it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother David Cassidy. David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”


His son Beau Cassidy, half brother Patrick Cassidy and ex wife Sue held a constant bedside vigil as the actor clinged to life. As his condition continued to worsen he was placed on a breathing tube, and never regained consciousness. Cassidy was the son of the late singer and actor Jack Cassidy and actress Evelyn Ward. He rose to fame playing Keith Partridge the son of a single mother of five children who form a rock and roll band. The show ‘The Partridge Family’ was a huge hit in the early 70’s. He sang on 10 top hit ‘Partrige Family’ albums, and eventually launched a highly successful solo career, selling over 30 million albums.
