‘Dukes Of Hazard’ Star Tom Wopat Arrested For Indecent Assault And Cocaine Possession

Actor Tom Wopat,65, was arrested in Waltham, Massachusetts. He is in the area performing in the play, ’42nd Street’, he was scheduled to open Thursday night, the same day of his arrest. There was a warrant for Wopat’s arrest on the charges of ‘indecent assault’. The actor is accused of putting his hands down the pants of a female associated with the play. The local police were actively looking for Wopat. He was spotted driving a ‘Ford Bronco’ and was pulled over. When a search was conducted police found a small baggie of cocaine. He was also arrested on a possession charge.

The actor is due to be arraigned on Thursday, and the show is scheduled for a Thursday matinee. The production team claims the show will go on with Wopat performing is part. The indecent battery charge is a felony, the possession charge is a misdemeanor. Wopat’s representative are not returning phone calls to the media. Wopat is from Wisconsin, and started his career as a soap opera actor on ‘One Life To Live.’ He achieved international fame with his role as ‘Luke Duke’ on ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ from 1979 to 1985.


After the show ended he embarked on a musical career, he wrote many songs, and recorded 8 albums ranging from country to rock. His first wife was Vicki Allen an actress and model, the couple were married 15 years before divorcing. He is currently married to his second wife Kahty Wopat, he is based out of Los Angeles. The ‘Dukes Of Hazard’ has a slew of new fans now, due to the very popular syndication of the show. Wopat said recently that he is close to the entire cast,and that John Schneider who played his brother on the show, is his best friend. Wopat will be arraigned on the charges on Friday morning.
