The only child of the late Farrah Fawcett and actor Ryan O’Neal is facing a host of new criminal charges. O’Neal has been behind bars for the last month on charges of robbing a 7-Eleven in Southern California. The 33 year old has a long history of criminal convictions that O’Neal starting accumulating when he was a teenager. The Los Angeles District Attorneys office said that O’Neal is now being charged with attempted murder, from the same period of time as the 7-Eleven robbery. The DA is claiming O’Neal was involved in a crime spree from May 2nd to May 9th 2018.
The accusations are that O’Neal started his crime spree in the West Los Angeles neighborhoods of Palms and Venice Beach. The new charges that O’Neal is facing are attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Redmond already pleaded not guilty to the first charges of attempted robbery and possession of heroin and methamphetamine. O’Neal has a long history of drug abuse and has been in and out of various rehab facilities in the last 15 years. Redmond’s mother Farrah Fawcett the star of the original ‘Charlies Angeles’ died of cancer in 2009 at the age of 62.
O’Neal’s father Ryan O’Neal claimed that his youngest child Redmond never got over the death of his mother. O’Neal was in jail when Fawcett was dying, and received permission from the court to attend her July 2009 funeral. Redmond’s half sister actress Tatum O’Neal said that she works on her recovery every day. She revealed that she regularly goes to 12 step meetings. In March of 2018 she talked about her brother and father. She said her brother Redmond “is such an addict, he’s very far gone, it will be a miracle if he can pull it around. He’s the most badly addicted person I’ve ever seen in my life and I’ve been around a lot of addicts.”
