When the two got on the road after the movie, Carruth blocked Adam’s car with his, allowing a hired hit man to fire four shots into Adams’ car who was 8 months pregnant with Carruth’s child.
Adams was able to call 911 and tell the operator that she was shot and ‘football player Rae Carruth was responsible for the shooting.’ Adams slipped into a coma shortly after arriving at the hospital, her baby was delivered via emergency cesarean section. Her son Chancellor was born with cerebral palsy due to the trauma he received from the shooting. Adam’s mother Saundra Adams, raised her grandson, her daughter Cherica died four weeks after the shooting. Carruth, out on bail took off as soon as Adams died. He was found in the trunk of a car in Tennessee and was arrested.
