‘Glee’ Actor Mark Salling Commits Suicide At 35

Mark Salling was on the hit show ‘Glee’ from 2009 to 2015, playing Noah Puckerman. The actor was awaiting sentencing in March for possession of child pornography. He was expected to serve at least 4 years in a California prison and he was ordered to register as a sex offender. The actor pleaded guilty to the charges in December, he was also ordered to stay at least 100 feet away from schools and parks and public swimming pools. Salling was found in a riverbed near his home in the San Fernando Valley town of Sunland, which is 20 miles from Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department verified that the body was found and it is Salling. TMZ had reported that in August Salling tried to commit suicide by cutting by of his wrists. He was rushed to an emergency room in Los Angeles and was put on a 72 hour psychiatric hold. His lawyer at the time denied the report, saying ‘Mark is fine, atoning for his wrong doing and working on himself. Fans and foes were quick to react on social media to Salling’s death. Some were comparing the death to another ‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith.

The actor died of a drug overdose in his native Canada in 2013, he was 31. Some fans were crying foul as Salling fans said the actor should ‘rest in peace’. Monteith fans said that there is no comparison and that Salling had over 50,000 pornographic pictures of children in his possession when he was arrested last year. Salling appeared on the ‘Wendy Williams Show’ in 2009, he was 27 at the time. He seemed very shy and reserved as his fame started to climb with the show’s first season. He said his friends in Texas were still down to earth and didn’t treat him any differently in spite of his fame.
