Countless actresses are recounting horror stories of sexual harassment and rape against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. The accusations against Weinstein, go back over two decades, his wife of 10 years British actress and fashion designer Georgina Chapman has filed for divorce. Chapman said in a statement”My heart breaks for all those women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”
Weinstein,65, and Chapman,41, have two children, India Pearl Weinstein,7, and son Dashielle Weinstein age 4. Weinstein also has three children from his first marriage to his assistant Eve Chilton, they divorced in 2004 after being married 17 years. This split was announced one week after the ‘New York Times’ published their explosive expose about Weinstein’s history of sexual harassment claims and settlements. Weinstein voluntarily took a leave from the movie company he founded the day the story broke. His board of directors fired him on October 8th, claiming in light of the allegations, they could “no longer keep him on.”
In the last 48 hours several high profile actresses have also come forward with their own personal stories of interactions with Weinstein. Academy Award winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow’ stared in the Weinstein produced 1996 film ‘Emma.’ Paltrow was 22 when she first encountered the producer who she claims propositioned her before filming began. She told her then boyfriend, actor Brad Pitt about it. Pitt threatened Weinstein when he encountered him at an awards show. Pitt told the producer, “you better not ever touch her again.” Pitt’s soon to be ex-wife actress Angelina Jolie said today that Weinstein also propositioned her two decades ago, and she has refused to work with Weinstein, and has warned others about him.
