Hollywood Stars Send Well Wishes To Carrie Fisher After Actress Suffers From Heart Attack

2016 has been a pretty rough year for Hollywood and it seems that it is not yet over after Carrie Fisher, an acclaimed Star Wars actress, was reported to have suffered from a heart attack while onboard a plane on Friday afternoon. Reports said that the actress is currently in an intensive care unit in Los Angeles. Brother Todd Fisher stated last night that the actress was already in a stable condition after she arrived at the hospital yet later stated that she is still in intensive care. Upon hearing the news, Fisher’s fellow Hollywood stars and friends took to social media to send their messages of support and love.

Fisher, who rose to worldwide fame for playing the role of Princess Leia in the hit franchise Star Wars, was revealed to suffer from a cardiac episode while flying from London to LA. The 60-year-old actress was rushed by the paramedics of the Los Angeles Fire Department to UCLA Medical Center shortly after noon, after her flight of 11 hours arrived at LAX.

According to sources, the actress suffered from a lot of distress during the flight. United Airlines also released a statement, saying that the medical personnel met Flight 935 flying in from London upon arrival after their crew reported the case of an unresponsive passenger. Passengers who were onboard Carrie Fisher’s flight claimed that the actress was not breathing before they landed.

Todd Fisher said during an interview that his sister is obviously one tough girl, encouraging everyone to pray for her fast recovery.

Sister Joely Fisher, also an actress, wrote on Twitter that she will be performing at Laguna Playhouse and will be back by her sister’s side.

Just recently, Carrie Fisher published her eight book, an autobiography entitled The Princess Diarist. She is also the daughter of renowned Hollywood couple Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. She is also openly writing and talking about the struggles she went through in the movie industry and is regarded as a royalty in Hollywood.

Carrie Fisher took on her prickly relationship with her mom in the book turned movie Postcards from the Edge. Fisher is also outspoken regarding her mental health problems and her discovered solution, which is radical sounding electroshock therapy.

Most of her co-stars in Star Wars wished her well on their Twitter accounts, including Mark Hamill, known for his role as Luke Skywalker; Peter Mayhew, the well-loved Chewbacca; Dave Prowse, Darth Vader; Anthony Daniels, C-3PO and Billy Dee Williams, whose role was Lando Calrissian.

On her four decades in the business, she is not just known for her Princess Leia role as she also starred in many other blockbuster films and TV shows including When Harry Met Sally, The Blues Brothers, and Sex and the City, which included a hilarious turn on 3D Rock.

Actor Harrison Ford said that he is saddened and shocked to hear the news about his dear friend. He said that their thoughts are with Carrie Fisher and her family and friends.
