Janet Jackson Becomes A First Time Mom At 50

Singer Janet Jackson, 50 gave birth to a son Eissa on January 3rd. Jackson part of the Jackson musical dynasty surprised fans last year by announcing she was pregnant with her first child. Many people were stunned to learn the news, as many people were not aware of the elusive singer’s marital status. Jackson has been married to Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana since 2012. In May Jackson postponed her sold out World Wide Unbreakable tour to devote her attention to the impending birth of her baby.


Reps for Jackson reported that the birth was completely natural and that Jackson and son Eissa were resting comfortably. Jackson is the youngest member of the famous musical family, her brother Micheal Jackson Eissa’s uncle died in June of 2009 at the age of 50. When Jackson first announced that she was pregnant many people speculated that she was having a child with the help of a surrogate. However in October Jackson released a picture of herself where she is visibly pregnant.

Her brother Jermaine Jackson, 61 has said that he thinks his sister will be a fabulous mother. He said she waited long enough to make the right decisions where parenting is involved. Jermaine has 9 children of his own from 5 different women. This is the third marriage for Jackson. She was first married to singer James DeBarge in the 80’s for only a year. Her second husband was Rene Elizondo Jr. from 1991 to 2000. She was romantically involved with record producer Jermaine Dupri for many years in early 2000 until around 2011. There has been no word yet on when the singer’s Unbreakable tour will resume. There are over 30 Jackson grandchildren, and some great grandchildren, so little Eissa will have many aunts, uncles and cousins to bond with.
