Jay-Z & David Letterman Discuss Regrets About Cheating On Their Wives

Singer Jay-Z stopped by David Letterman’s top rated Netflix show, the two men discussed cheating allegations. Letterman has said that he tries to find a common ground with his guests for his new Netflix show. The show ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’ has been met with critical acclaim. Singers Jay-Z and Beyonce just celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary, according to the rapper, the journey has been very difficult’. For Jay-Z his newest revelation isn’t new, he has admitted to cheating on his wife in 2017.

Jay-Z said to Letterman, “Much like you I have a beautiful wife, who was understanding and who knew that I’m not the worst of what I’ve done, and put the hard work of going to therapy.” Letterman without actually saying either ‘infidelity or cheating’ asked the rapper and entrepreneur if cheating on a spouse in a very public way was something he could relate to. The rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, said he could relate. Carter said, “Yeah, of course, for a lot of us, we don’t have, especially where I grew up and men in general. We don’t have emotional cues from when we’re young.”


Carter went on to explain, “Our emotional cues are be a man, stand up, don’t cry.” Carter also revealed that his 2002 song, ‘Song Cry’ was about him not being emotionally available to keeping his family together. Jay-Z said that he and Beyonce both went to therapy to repair their strained relationship after he admitted to cheating on her. Carter has three children with his wife, said that a lot of his music today is about things that have already happened. He said he’s proud of the husband and father he is now, due to all the hard work he put in, to have the life that he now has.
