Jim Parsons of ‘Big Bang Theory Marries Long Time Partner In New York

Actor Jim Parsons,44, of the ‘Big Bang’ Theory married his long time boyfriend Todd Spiewak a graphic designer. The couple married in New York’s Rainbow Room in front of friends and family. Parsons came out publicly as gay in 2010 after an article ran about him in the ‘New York Times’ stating he was gay and in a long term relationship. The couple celebrated their 14th anniversary this past November. With Parsons saying he met Spiewak 14 years ago and it was the best thing that ever happened to him in his life.

‘The ‘Big Bang Theory’ is in it’s 10th season, and was recently picked up for two more seasons. The cast is among the highest paid actors currently on TV. Parson and the others earn $900 thousand an episode. They each took a pay cut to keep the show on. In prior years each cast member was making over a million an episode. Parsons plays a straight man, Sheldon Cooper on the show. In the season 10 finale Sheldon proposed marriage to Mayim Bialik’s character ‘Amy Farrah Fowler’.


Parsons was on the Ellen Degeneres show in 2014, and said he was in no hurry to get married, so some found today’s news a bit surprising. He also received a star on the famed ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ in Hollywood, California. Parsons has also won two Emmy Awards for his work on the ‘Big Bang Theory.
Parsons grew up Houston, Texas and has a Bachelors degree from the University of Houston. Parsons and Spiewak live in  Gramecy Park in New York City. He also maintains a residence in Los Angeles, since his show films in Burbank, CA. Spiewak is 41 and from Boston, he graduated from Boston University with a BFA.
