John Dickerson Will Replace Charlie Rose On ‘CBS This Morning’

‘Face The Nation’ host John Dickerson has been named the new host of ‘CBS This Morning’. He is set to replace former long time host Charlie Rose after Rose was fired due to sexual harassment claims. Dickerson will co-host the popular news show with Oprah Winfrey’s BFF Gayle King and Norah O’Donnel. The president of CBS David Rhodes made the official announcement on Tuesday, Dickerson will start his new plumb assignment on Wednesday January 10th. Rhodes said the following of his new hire.

“John’s impressive track record and strong all around journalism extends our commitment to real news coverage every morning at CBS News. Gayle and Norah continue to show leadership on our morning broadcast each day. Colleagues, news-makers and peers all appreciate the depth and context John Dickerson brings to every discuss of the day’s events. Together with his co-hosts he will project our best values with every broadcast.” Dickerson himself offered a statement,”On the campaign trail I’ve collected compliments from ‘CBS This Morning’s’ commitment to the news for years now.”

The widely respected newsman continued, “Every time I’ve been on the show, I haven’t wanted the conversation with Norah and Gayle to end when my segment does. Now it doesn’t have to.” The former host, Charlie Rose was fired from the network on November 21st, 2016. The firing was the direct result of eight women coming forward and claiming that former host sexually harassed them on a regular bias. Rose did offer a written apology to the women via ‘The Washington Post’ on November 20th. Rose has been married twice, with both marriages ending in divorce, the last of which ended in 2006. Rose was also fired from long term positions at PBS and Bloomberg, over the same sexual harassment allegations.
