Julie Chen Publicly Supports Husband On Her Return As Host Of ‘Big Brother’

After being absent from TV for several weeks Julie Chen returned to ‘CBS’s Big Brother’ on Thursday.
She has absent from her TV talk show ‘The Talk’ since it premiered on Monday. On the close of ‘Big Brother’ on Thursday Chen signed off with ‘This is Julie Chen Moonves goodnight’. Her husband of 14 years, resigned as the CEO of CBS on Sunday, September 9th after another group of six women accused him of rape and sexual harassment. Chen has never used ‘Moonves’ on TV, it was taken as a sign of solidarity with her husband, by many viewers and critics.

Crew members who were working in the control room during the ‘Big Brother’ broadcast were gasping, they couldn’t believe she did that. It was a surprise to the crew, one said, “Did she actually say that?”One member of the crew said, “It was the perfect F you to CBS who forced the honcho to resign” Everyone at the network was watching the show very carefully to see if Chen would do anything. She did, but it came at the very end of the show, there was nothing amiss during the show.

The first public accusations came in July after Ronan Farrow published a lengthy piece about the allegations in ‘The New Yorker’. Early on Chen addressed the allegations from her hosting desk on ‘The Talk’. She said “I issued the one and only statement I will issue on Twitter, and I stand by that statement today, tomorrow and forever.” Moonves himself admitted to ‘acting inappropriately on different occasions’ but stopped short of forcing himself on anyone, and vehemently denied the several rape accusations made against him. Moonves was addressed on ‘The Talk’ this week during Chen’s absence. Sharon Osborne said “the man hasn’t been convicted of any crime yet, but obviously the man has a problem.”
