Katy Perry is apparently taking the high road when it comes to her long standing feud with fellow singer Taylor Swift. Perry sent an actual olive branch to the dressing room of Swift before a performance. Swift took to her Instagram account to publicly thank Swift for her gesture. Swift started her ‘Reputation Stadium Tour’ on Tuesday, which includes 40 cities. Swift said, “Thank you Katy, so I just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch. This means so much to me.”
The note that Perry sent with the olive branch starts, “Hey old Friend’, and also includes a sticker of Perry’s beloved dog. The singers relationship started to sour in 2014 when Swift publicly accused Perry of stealing one of her back up dancers. Swift told anyone that would listen that ‘Perry was trying to destroy her career. Swift said, “she basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour.” Swift who is known for writing songs about various ex boyfriends, penned the song ‘Bad Blood’ about her feud with Perry. When the song was released Swift did an interview with ‘Rolling Stone’, she didn’t name Perry as the source for the song.
Swift mega fans, put two and two together and started a rumor that the song was written about Perry. Swift never confirmed or denied that the song was written about her feud with Perry. The ‘American Idol’ judge kept the flames fanning by tweeting, “Watch out for Regina George in sheep’s clothing.” George is a character in the film ‘Mean Girls’, Perry later confirmed the dig was about Swift. This is not the first time Perry tried to apologize. In 2017 Perry told the ‘Huffington Post’, “I mean I’m ready to let it go. I forgive her and I’m sorry for anything I did, and I hope the same from her.”
