Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Are Engaged After A Year Of Dating

Wedding Bells are in the future for singer Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom. The couple became engaged on Valentine’s Day, and say they are ‘elated’. This will be the second marriage for both Bloom and Perry. Bloom was married to Australian super model Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013. They have an 8 year old son, Flynn. Bloom and Perry started dating in January of 2016, but split up a year later. They started to rekindle their romance in April of 2018 and have been inseparable ever since. Perry was on social media sharing the news, surrounded by red flowers and balloons.

Katy’s proud mother, shared pictures on her Facebook page saying, “look who got engaged.” Bloom gave a hint of what was coming hour earlier by sharing the following on social media, he said the following. “A shallow person will only have shallow relationships. Real love is not one person clinging to another. It can only be fostered between two strong people, people who are secured in their own individuality. Antoine de Saint-Exupery, author of The Little Prince wrote in a work called Wind Sand and Stars, Love is not two people gazing at each other, but two people looking ahead together in the same direction.”

Perry was previously married comedian Russell Brand from 2009 to 2011, the couple married after dating for just a few months. Brand said to Howard Stern after divorcing Perry, that he truly loved Perry but only a short time of being married, he realized it was a very bad move. Perry talked to Vogue and said, she thought Brand didn’t ‘like her being the boss of things.’ She also claimed that she heard nothing from him in weeks, and he finally send her a text message letter her know he filed for divorce. Perry told friends that the couple may marry this summer, ‘if everything can be pulled together in time.’
