Lady Gaga’s Friend Model Zombie Boy Commits Suicide At 32

Singer Lady Gaga is said to be devastated over the suicide of her friend Canadian model Rick Genest. The model was better known as ‘Zombie Boy’ was found in his apartment in Montreal, Canada. The local police released a statement that ‘there was no foul play and Genest died by suicide. The statement also indicated that Genest was battling severe mental health issues. Zombie appeared on Gaga’s video for ‘Born This Way’ in 2011, the two became fast friends after his work on the video. Gaga reacted to Genest’s death via social media.

She told her 76 million followers, “The suicide of friend Rick Genest, Zombie Boy is beyond devastating. We have to work harder to the culture, bring mental health to the forefront and erase the stigma that we can’t talk about it. If you are suffering call a friend or family member, we must save each other.”Gaga also said, “Science tells us that it takes 21 days to form a habit. If you are suffering from mental health I beckon for today to be your first day or a continuation of the work you have been doing. Reach out if you’re in pain, and if you know someone that is in pain, reach out to them too.”

Zombie’s management team Duledo Management reacted to his death too, they said “The whole Duledo family is shocked and pained by this tragedy. Zombie Boy, Rico was loved by all those who had the chance to meet and know him. Icon of the artistic scene and fashion world this innovator against popular culture has been able to charm them all hearts.” Genest was a Guinness World Record holder for the most tattoos of an insect on the body. He had 176 insects tattooed on his body, he also held the record for most human bones tattoos, he had 139 on his body.
