Actress and former member of the controversial Church of Scientology Leah Remini and actress Jada Pinkett Smith have ended their very public feud. Remini, will be appearing on Pinkett Smith’s popular Facebook talk show, ‘Red Table Talk’. Jada told ‘People’ that “What was really emotional about it was realizing there were two broken little girls in us that were abandoned by our fathers and turned into fighters that clashed.” Remini left the church in 2013, and waged a public war against the church. She wrote a bestselling book ‘Trouble Maker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology’ shortly after leaving the church.
She followed her book up with an Emmy award winning documentary on A&E called ‘Leah Remini:Scientology and the Aftermath. The show has had two successful seasons and has been renewed for a 3rd season. Remini said unflattering things about Pinkett Smith and her husband Will Smith to ‘The Daily Beast’ last year. She said the couple were long time members of the church and big financial supporters. Jada tweeted in response to Remini’s statements, “I have studied Dianetics and I appreciate the merits of Study Tech. But I am not a Scientologist, I practice human kindness and I believe that we each have a right to determine what we are and what we are not.”
Pinket Smith the mother of Jaden and Willow Smith said interviewing Remini for her show was very enlightening. She added that ‘she learned a very valuable lesson, “ You have to treat people with kindness because you don’t know what they’re going through. When she told me her story, I had so much more compassion and it reiterated the necessity to just be kind and gentle because we are all f***** devastated.” Remini had a been a member of the church for 35 years when she left in 2013. The new seasons of ‘Red Table Talk’ premieres on Facebook October 22nd.
