Luke Perry Dies After Suffering A Second Stroke

Actor Luke Perry,52, died after suffering a second stroke on Monday. He had the first stroke on Thursday, when he was transported to a hospital from his Sherman Oaks, CA home. A source at the hospital said that he never regained consciousness after the first stroke. Perry was surrounded by his children and Jack and Sophie, who never left the actor’s side since arriving at the hospital. Also present was his children’s mother and ex-wife Rachel ‘Minnie’ Sharp, the two remained close even after their 2003 divorce. Perry’s mother and step-father Ann and Steve Bennett, were also by his side.

A sister Ann Coder and brother Tom Perry, were also at the hospital. The family released a statement,”The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world. The family requests privacy at this great time of mourning, and will not commenting further at this time.” Perry had been starring on the show ‘Riverdale’ playing Archie’s father. The Ohio native came to Los Angeles after graduating high school, and lived with actors David, Rosanna and Patricia Arquette until he got his big break on ‘Beverly Hills 90210.

Perry had a 30 year friendship with the Arquette’s transgendered sister Alexis Arquette. They ‘were extremely close, and I believe they are together now; said actress Rosanna Arquette. Alexis died in 2016 at 47 after a 30 year battle with HIV, Perry was at her side when she died. Rosanna said they were always so close, ‘like siblings.’ Rosanna said of Perry, “He never judged Alexis, he just loved her unconditionally, Luke was a good man.” Fox released a statement, “Luke will always be part of the Fox family. Our throughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this extremely difficult time. He will be deeply missed. A source said Perry had a ‘two to three pack a day smoking habit, and perhaps his smoking played a part in his death.’
