Marcia Cross Grateful To Be Alive After Being Treated For Cancer

Former ‘Desperate Housewife’ actress Marcia Cross is still recovering from extensive treatment for cancer of the anus. The same cancer took the life of actress Farrah Fawcett in 2009. Cross says she wishes her hair would come back but other than that she ‘is just so happy to be alive.’ Cross has been keeping her fans updated on social media about her battle against the deadly disease. The 56 year old actress had her fans confused by her post. Some thought she was still sick. She was quick to correct them.

Cross wrote, “I am so sorry my post wasn’t clear, I am POST cancer, all good now. Hard journey but I am healthy, happy, and more present and grateful than ever. Thank you from the bottom of my ever expanding heart for all of your love. Cross kept her cancer and treatment private. Revealing it publicly came as a huge relief to the actress. She said, “After posting a picture of myself here uttering the words cancer and hair loss. I felt liberated, deliriously free and completely me. How or why this simple act Gave me such a powerful lift I did not question. But I thank God or whatever gave me the internal push to move forward and expose myself.”

Cross recently played the part of the President of the United States in the TV show ‘Quantico’, could not believe all the well wishes from her fans and others. She wrote, “I certainly wasn’t expecting the response of love and kindness that flowed to me. My capacity to receive requires a massive expansion. I am ecstatically alive and what interests me post cancer is authenticity, vulnerability and transparency and of course love.” Cross has been married since 2006 to stockbroker Tom Mahoney. Cross underwent in vitro fertilization in 2007 at the age of 45. She has twin daughters, Eden and Savannah in February of 2007.
