Singer Mariah Carey had two reasons to be thankful this weekend. She thanked her fans for the love for her new single ‘The Star’. She also thanked them for their support as her ex James Packer was throwing her some shade. Carey,48, has at times been elusive, but she has always been very grateful for her devoted fans. Carey said via social media “Hey you guys I just want to say thank you so much for all the kind words about my new song ‘The Star’ Carey said.
This comes only a day after her ex boyfriend James Packer said he has some regrets about ever being involved with the songstress. Packer spoke about his romance to the ‘Weekend Australia,’ He said “Yikes, she was kind, exciting, and fun, Mariah is a woman of substance.” He then said but being very honest, it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me to be involved with each other.” Packer said he was at the lowest point in his life when he met Carey. He was over 5 billion dollars in debt, and he wishes he would have worked harder at making his first marriage work.
The former couple were engaged during their 18 month romance. Packer says at the time he met Carey he wanted to plant firmer roots in California to be closer to his two children by his former wife. During the time he met the ex wife of Nick Cannon he was battling family members over an estate left by his late father. He also said his mental state has been at a better place, he wouldn’t have ever been involved with Carey. The mother of two allegedly wanted a 50 million dollar settlement, and wanted to keep her 10 million dollar engagement ring. Carey thanked her fans for taking her side.
