‘Married At First Sight’ Star Jamie Otis Suffers Second Miscarriage

Jamie Otis-Hehner and her husband Doug Hehner have disclosed that they suffered a miscarriage at 10 weeks. The couple were on the first season of ‘Lifetime’s’ ‘Married At First Sight’. A reality show that matches 6 singles by a team of ‘experts’ and have them marry after meeting only at the alter, literally minutes before the ceremony begins. The show is in it’s 8th season, despite limited success. Out of 35 couples on the show, only five couples remain married. Jamie revealed that the couple found out during a doctors appointment that the second baby the couple were carrying had miscarried.

The couple have an 18 month daughter, Henley Grace, and had miscarried prior to having Henley. Jamie shared the news via social media, she said, “So thankful for this little one her and her daddy. Our doctor’s appointment didn’t go well, we had a failed miscarriage. I’m devastated.” Jamie a nurse continued, “I can’t thank you all enough for all the love and support, prayers and encouragement you have sent us. You have no idea how much you have helped Doug and I. You guys are the most amazing community of men and women, and I hope you know how much we appreciate all of you.”

This loss is two years after the couple miscarried their first child, a boy they named Johnathan Edward. Jamie lost her son at 17 weeks and one day, she said at the time, it was “her most devastating loss.” After losing that baby, Jamie started blogging about her day to day life after the loss. She said, she and her computer programmer husband were ‘trying hard to stay positive.’ She said at the time she had ‘very little motivation to do anything’ despite all the encouragement from her friends, family and fans.’ She said her husband Doug ‘was so good to her during that time.’ The couple were married on the show on March 23rd, 2014.
