Meghan Markle’s Mother Doria Not Invited To Royal Christmas Celebrations

The mother of former ‘Suits’ actress Meghan Markle will remain in California for Christmas. Her daughter, part of the Royal family since her May marriage to Prince Harry, will be with the Royals. There have been reports of severe feuding between Markle and Kate Middleton, ‘People’ has confirmed that Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, was not invited to join her daughter’s new family for the festivities. The yoga teacher was the only family member of Markle that traveled to England in May for the wedding.

A source familiar with Royal protocol said that family members of the non royal partners are included in holiday celebrations. Prince Harry, Meghan, William and Kate their children, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip will gather at the Royal retreat Sandrigham for the Christmas holiday. This news comes after Markle’s estranged father Thomas Markle gave an ‘interview for cash’ to a British morning talk show on Monday. The former TV lighting professional said he has not talked to his daughter since she married Harry. He said he hopes that he can see his grandchild that is due in the Spring.

A source close to Markle said she has no plans to have any relationship with her father or her half siblings. Markle has also been the subject of many media reports that are labeling her ‘a diva’, she has had several staff members resign in her first 7 months as a member of the royal family. The British press reported that Markle has put her foot down when it comes to Prince Harry’s hunting activities. He will not participate in the Royal family ‘Boxing Day Pheasant Shoot’ which takes place the day after Christmas. Harry has engaged in the shoot, since he was 7. Meghan though not a vegetarian is known to be an animal lover and is against ‘blood sports.’ Harry said, “out of respect for my wife’s wishes, I will not be at the hunt this year.”
