‘MTV Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood Gives Birth To Healthy Baby Boy

Drama queen Amber Portwood of ‘MTV’s Teen Mom’ gave birth Tuesday morning to a healthy baby boy. The baby is the second child for Portwood, and the first for her boyfriend Andrew Glennon. The baby is named James Andrew for Glennon’s late father. The couple met on the reality show ‘Reality Stars Marriage Boot-camp’. Portwood was on the show with her former fiance Matt Baier. The former couple, were trying to repair their relationship, and appeared on the show with Portwood’s mother Tonya. Glennon a California native was a sound man with the crew of the show.

Portwood has a daughter Leah Shirley,9,with her ex boyfriend Gary Shirley. Portwood was due on Mother’s Day May 13th. The troubled reality star has battled demons from the beginning of her tenure on MTV. Her sometimes violent bombastic behavior has been highlighted on the popular show. She was seen by millions of viewers punching and beating Gary Shirley. The airing of the beating lead to Children’s Protective Services in Anderson, Indiana, opening a formal investigation. Portwood was closely monitored by CPS and subjected to random drug tests. She would eventually be arrested for domestic violence charges against Shirley.

Portwood lost primary custody of her daughter Leah, the child would be raised by Gary Shirley. Portwod was granted a few visits a week with her daughter. She still doesn’t have 50/50 custody. Shirley and his wife Kristina are the custodial parents raising Leah. Portwood spent a year at Rockville Penitentiary in Indiana for probation violations. Many fans were skeptical of Portwood entering into a new relationship with Glennon after being involved with Baier for three years. She announced her pregnancy after only two months of dating him. Dr. Venus Nicolino of ‘Marriage Bootcamp’ openly criticized Portwood for taking up with Glennon so soon after her split with Baier. Fans and foes are crossing their fingers and hoping for the best.
