In a new explosive documentary about the late singer Whitney Houston there are some very surprising and disturbing allegations revealed. The singer died on February 11, 2012 at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel. Her lifeless body was found in the bathroom of her hotel suite, she died at the age of 48. The film directed by acclaimed Academy Award winning director Kevin Macdonald is in theaters this week.
The film alleges that the singer’s cousin Dee Dee Warwick molested Houston and her brother Gary Houson.
Dee Dee is the sister of famed singer Dionne Warwick, Dee Dee died in 2008. Houston’s mother singer Cissy Houston said she is ‘shocked and saddened’ by the claims. However in a statement released to ‘People Magazine’ she expressed doubt as to the validity of the claims made in the movie. She released the statement on behalf of herself and Dionne, “We cannot however overstate the shock and horror we feel and the difficulty we have believing that my niece Dee Dee Warwick (Dionne’s sister) molested two my three children.”
Houston’s brother Gary has confirmed that he and Whitney were both molested by Dee Dee when they were young children. Both siblings have battled drug abuse issues, and it was what ultimately killed Houston. Large amounts of cocaine were found in her system at the time of her death. The film ‘Whitney’ also chronicles Houston’s legal battle with her late father John Houston. The father who died in 2003 at 82, was in the middle of a court battle with his daughter, over money he claimed the singer owed him. Cissy in the statement said Dee Dee and Whitney are not alive to either verify or challenge the claims made in the film. She said her daughter would not have wanted these details uncovered in a film for ‘millions of people to see.
