Wedding bells rang for Nick Jonas and his Indian born now actress wife, Priyanka Chopra. The couple married only four months after becoming engaged in July 2108. The bride who is ten years older than her new husband wore a custom made Ralph Lauren wedding gown. Jonas was also fitted in a Ralph Lauren suit. Both families also wore creations by the famed designer, who is a close friend of Chopra.
The ceremony was held in Umid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Ragasthan. Jonas’ father Paul Kevin Jonas Sr. is an ordained minister and performed the Christian ceremony.
The couple exchanged rings designed by famed Indian jewelry designer Chopard. On Sunday the celebration will continue with the couple exchanging vows in a Hindu ceremony to honor the new bride’s background. A source earlier in the week said, “It is super important of Priyanka to have an Indian ceremony that honors her heritage and culture. It’s just as important as having a Western ceremony to honor Nick’s Christian upbringing.” The couple celebrated Thanksgiving in India ahead of all wedding festivities. The couple also had a traditional Indian puja ceremony which is spiritual ceremony ahead of a wedding.
Shortly after arriving in Jodhpur relatives of the couple and close friends were on hand as Chopra had a ‘mehndi ceremony’. This is a ceremony that has the bride getting designs made of henna on her hands and feet. Some of the female guests also get less elaborate henna designs done. The couple first started talking via Twitter in 2016, and met in person for the first time at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles in 2017. Friend’s of Jonas say he has dated a lot in the last few years, but it’s never been anything serious with anyone, Chopra is the first serious relationship that he’s ever had. Chopra recently said she’s ready to be a mother, the couple will split their time between New York, Los Angeles, India and Jonas’ ranch in Oklahoma.
