Nipsey Hussle’s Alleged Killer Represented By O.J. Prosecutor Christopher Darden

The alleged killer of rapper Nipsey Hussle appeared in an LA courtroom on Thursday. Eric Holder is the lone suspect in the March 31st murder of Nipsey Hussle. The rapper was gunned down in front of his clothing store in South Los Angeles. He was shot 6 times twice in the head. Two other people who were with Hussle were also shot, they are both excepted to survive. Holder plead not guilty, to one charge of first degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and felony possession of a firearm by a felon.

Holder has an extensive criminal record, bail was set, as a cash only bond of $5 million dollars. The shooting according to sources was not gang related, Holder was supposedly upset with Hussle over, ‘a personal disagreement.’ Holder faces a life without parole prison sentence if convicted. California Governor Gavin Newsom recently put a hold on all executions in the state. There has not been an execution in California since 2005, Newsom said while he’s in office there will not be any. Many court room observers were surprised to see Christopher Darden representing Hussle. Darden famously was a co-prosecutor at O.J. Simpson’s 1995 murder trial.

After that trial Darden left the district attorney’s office and went into private practice as a defense attorney. The two other victims are Kerry Latham and Shermi Cervabta Villaneva. Hussle was at his ‘Marathon Clothing’ store to give his friend Kerry clothing for job interviews, he had just been released from prison. Shermi is Kerry’s nephew, and he drove him to the store to meet with the rapper. Holder is being held in solitary confinement, because police believe he has a huge target on his head, for killing the rapper. There has been an outpouring of tributes and well wishes for Hussle’s family from Cardi B, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Beyonce, John Legend, and many others. Holder will be back in court on May 10th.
