Philanthropist Barbara Sinatra Wife Of Frank Sinatra Dies At 90

Frank Sinatra’s fourth and final wife Barbara Sinatra has died almost 20 years after her famous husband died. Mrs. Sinatra spent her last two decades giving back to the community through her many charitable pursuits. Sinatra died at her Rancho Mirage estate right outside of Palm Springs in California. A representative for her organization, ‘The Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center Foundation’ revealed that Mrs. Sinatra had been in failing health for several months. She died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by close friends and family members.

Barbara married Frank in 1976 and remained married to him for 22 years until his death. This marriage lasted longer than any of Frank’s four marriages. She had been previously married to Zeppo Marx of the ‘Marx Brothers’ from 1959 to 1973. During her marriage to Sinatra she became a fierce advocate for children of child abuse. She built up a successful non-profit foundation for abused children with the help of Frank Sinatra. Her foundation now regularly provides counseling and food, clothing to child abuse victims, it also helps them through the court system.

Sinatra was a former model and Las Vegas Showgirl, and was a prominent children’s advocate before she met and married Frank Sinatra. Barbara was introduced to Frank by her former husband Zeppo Marx. Zeppo and Frank were good friends and neighbors in Rancho Mirage. Barbara left her husband for Frank Sinatra. The Sinatras were both active in the Children’s Center, Frank often would go over to the center and read and sing for the children. He also raised many millions of dollars for the center by doing benefit concerts. She had no children with Sinatra, she had one son with her first husband, Robert Oliver Marx who survives her in death.
