Prince Charles Will Walk Meghan Markle Down The Aisle

As family drama has put a slight shadow on the upcoming royal wedding, there is a ray of light a day before the wedding. Former actress Meghan Markle has asked the father of her future husband Prince Harry to walk her down the aisle. Prince Charles was delighted she asked him, and he will do the honors according to the palace. Markle’s own father Thomas Markle is not attending her wedding due to a recurring health issue. The elder Markle who lives in Mexico, claimed earlier in the week that he would be able to attend. After he was caught staging pictures with the paparazzi, he changed his mind.

Markle has claimed that he was undergoing heart surgery, and that is why he would not be able to attend. Markle’s mother Dora Ragland arrived in London on Wednesday, there was much speculation that the yoga teacher would walk her daughter down the aisle. Ragland is the only member of Markle’s family that will be joining 600 guests inside St. George’s Chapel. There will be hundreds of thousands of people lining the streets along the route from London to the chapel. Throngs of spectators have been arrive since Monday to secure a place on the route.

Charles who only has sons, has walked a bride down the aisle before. In 2016 he walked Alexandra Knatchbull down the aisle as her father looked on from the audience. Knatchbull was the goddaughter of Prince Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana. At the time of the wedding, Knatchbull was angry at her father for leaving her mother only months before wedding, he was at the wedding. The palace said, “Ms. Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Whales to accompany her down the aisle on her wedding day. The Prince is pleased to welcome Ms. Markle to the Royal Family in this way.”
