Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, 33, has been released from the team today according to an official statement. Rumors have been circulating for months that Cutler’s last game had been played, now it’s official. Cutler who is married ‘The Hills’ alum Kristin Cavallari, is saying goodbye to Chicago. He’s been with the team for the last eight seasons. Serious injuries have plagued Cutler for the last couple of years. Bears fans have been losing confidence in Cutler for quite sometime, he only played 5 games in 2016 due to injuries.
General manager Ryan Pace said in a statement “I will always appreciate his toughness and respect his accomplishments on the field with the Bears. He leaves here holding nearly every passing record with this storied franchise, and I wish him nothing but the best going forward.” Speculation is that free agent Mike Glennon, 27, will replace Cutler as the starting quarterback in the 2017 season.
Cutler released his own statement, “Chicago is the city where I met my wonderful wife Kristen. I have been fortunate to have three beautiful children here. Our family will leave Chicago with great memories and relationships on and off the field. We look forward to the next chapter in our lives and wish the best to Bears fans everywhere.” The couple have 3 children, Camden, 4, Jaxon 2, and daughter Saylor 15 months. The couple started dating in 2009, when Cavallari was in Chicago visiting her mother. She went to a preseason game and met Cutler at a party after the game. They became engaged but broke up for a short time in 2011. Their first son was born in August of 2012, and they became engaged again. The couple married on June 7, 2013, sources close to the couple say the couple and their children will relocate to Los Angeles.
