R. Kelly Portrayed As Serial Predator In New Lifetime Movie

Lifetime is planning two different projects about singer R. Kelly. One is a movie and the other is a docu series. The producers are getting some help from some of Kelly’s alleged victims. Kelly has been dealing sexual misconduct claims since he secretly married 15 year old Aaliyah in 1994. Kelly enlisted his then tour manager Demetrius Smith to get him fake documents for Aaliyah that said she was 18. When her parents found about the marriage they had the marriage annulled. Last July three different sets of parents accused Kelly of holding their young daughters against their will.

The women and Kelly denied the claims, the parents of the women all claim that Kelly has brainwashed their family members . R. Kelly has sold over 30 million records world wide, and remains one of the most influential singers in the world, according to ‘Rolling Stone Magazine. In April ‘Apple music’ and Pandora have ended their relationship with the singer, and will no longer carry his music or promote him. Victims and their families said that the music industry has been complicit where Kelly is concerned. Only two companies have dropped him this year. He’s been accused of sexual misconduct for more than 20 years say the family members.

In an interview two years ago, R. Kelly was asked about all of the claims being made against him. Kelly immediately became defensive. Kelly said, “ I came here for positive, not for negativity.” The singer said during the interview, ‘my fans all love me all over the world, that’s why they have bought millions of my records though the years. He told the interviewer if she asked him anything that didn’t have to do with his new record he would walk out. The interviewer remained calm during the tense interview. Kelly said ‘you’re here to promote my music and stop harassing me.”
