Rapper Snoop Dogg is no stranger to controversy, some are saying this time he may have gone too far. In his new music video for the song ‘Lavender’ a Donald Trump look-a-like in clown face gets shot to death by Dogg. The Long Beach native has been in the public spotlight for the last 25 years, he has taken a fair amount of criticism for his music in the past.
The 45 year old rapper defended the video and his reasons for making it. He said that people aren’t really giving Trump the grief he deserves. Dogg says that people are being way too lenient with the President, and not calling him on anything he does. Dogg said Trump is a “clown that needs to get out of the way”. He said his video is a clear illustration of how he feels about the President and he has a right to his opinion.
Reporters asked Florida Senator Marco Rubio his opinion on the video today at Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington, D.C. Rubio who ran against Trump in the Presidential primaries has been very critical of Trump in the past. Of the video he said “Snoop shouldn’t have done that. We have had presidents assassinated before. All it takes is one wrong person to see that video and get the wrong idea and then we are left with serious problems.” He went on to say” We can have policy differences with politicians that’s perfectly acceptable, but in this case, I don’t know what Snoop was thinking, he should have thought about what he is doing much longer before making this video.” Snoop Dogg’s whose real name is Calvin Broadus, supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race.
