Real Housewives Of New Jersey Matriarch Antonia Gorga Dies At 66

It’s been a rough couple of years for Bravo’s RHONJ star Teresa Giudice. Today her beloved mother Antonia Gorga died unexpectedly at 66. Giudice was at her side in a New Jersey hospital when she passed away. The reality TV star and successful cook book author, is said to be inconsolable, she had a very close relationship with her mother. Mrs. Gorga along with her husband Giacinto Gorga regularly  appeared on the Brave show since it premiered in 2009. Ironically the ill health of Teresa’s father was often mentioned on the top rated reality show.

Teresa’s brother Joe Gorga and his wife Melissa and their three children are also featured on the show. Mrs. Gorga had two children Joe and Teresa and seven grandchildren, one of Teresa’s daughters is named after her. Teresa,44, spent nearly a year in prison for various fraud charges and was released in December of 2015. Her husband Joe Giudice is currently serving a 41 month prison term at Fort Dix Correctional Institution in New Jersey. He has been behind bars for one year and is set to be released in March of 2019. He faces a deportation hearing when he is released, he is an Italian citizen and could be deported.

There has been no official cause of death released, but insiders are saying that Gorga has been ill for about a month. Season 8 of the Bravo show is set to air this summer, with former show regular Danielle Staub set to return to the show. She left the show after only two seasons in 2010. Fans of the show are eager to see how Staub will be portrayed. When she left the show she was feuding with the entire cast, which was the primary reason her contract was not renewed.
