Actor Robert Blake, 83, has applied for a marriage license in Los Angeles today. He is planning on marrying Los Angeles event planner Pamela Hudak,55. The two have known each other for decades and have dated in the past. In 2005 a jury acquitted Blake of killing his second wife Bonny Lee Bakley. In 2001 Blake took Bakley, his wife of 1 year, out to dinner at an Italian restaurant in Studio City, not far from his home. He left Bakley in the car, when he went back to the restaurant to retrieve a gun he said he left there. When he returned to the car, he found his wife had been shot, an ambulance transported her to an area hospital where she later died of her injuries.
Bakley’s three adult children filed a civil lawsuit against Blake for wrongful death in 2005. The children believed that Blake murdered their mother and a jury agreed and awarded them 30 million in damages. Blake and the Bakley children later settled out of court for an undisclosed amount. Blake later filed bankruptcy, claiming he was unable to get any more acting jobs, and his legal bills had wiped him out financially. Bakley had Blake had one daughter who was a year old when Bakley was killed. Blake’s adult daughter from his wife actress Sondra Kerrr, Delinah Blake adopted the child and raised her as her own. Rosie is now 16 years old, and said to be doing very well living in Southern California.
In an interesting twist, Pamela Hudak testified for Blake at his criminal trial saying the actor was known to keep large amounts of cash in his home. A search warrant found 10 thousand dollars in a dresser draw, the same amount that Blake allegedly agreed to pay a hit man to kill Bakley. There is no date yet set for the marriage to take place.
