‘Roseanne’ Actress Emma Kenney Getting Treatment For Undisclosed Issues

Emma Kenney plays the daughter of Darlene on the newly rebooted ‘Roseanne’ show. The show has come back to TV with record breaking ratings. The teenage actress told ‘E News’ that she was running with a really bad crowd in LA, that were ‘into doing illegal things.’ Of her life behind the cameras, Kenney said, “I was being naive and very immature, and I was doing things I should not be doing, because they are illegal and I’m not 21.”

Kenney also stars on the ‘Showtime’ show ‘Shameless’, since the show premiered in 2011. The actress said she’s been under a lot of pressure, with these two top rated shows, and all of ‘the issues of life’. Kenney grew up in New York City with her mother Gillian an attorney and father Kevin a sports writer. The actress went on to say, “It was just a slippery slope that I didn’t want to go down. And I knew that I needed to stop it. I want to be the healthiest best Emma I can be and I know that by going to treatment that’s what’s going to happen.”

Kenney said that she wants to continue to travel only on a positive road. Emma had a message for her fans too. She said, “I just want to send a message to my fans. That it’s ok to admit that you need help and it doesn’t make you weak. I’m going to come out on the other side, the True Emma that I have always been.” Kenney also decided that in order for her to get mentally healthy she needed to take a break from social media. She posted on Twitter, “Hello and goodbye (for a bit) I’ve decided to take a break from social media and LA for a minute. This sounds so cliche but this town/industry can really get to you. Going to re-find my peace and happiness.”
