Academy Award winning actress Sandra Bullock is opening up about a tumultuous year for her. Bullock appeared on the ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Thursday, and said that ‘you can’t schedule life.’ Bullock’s father John Bullock,93, died in September. Her three legged dog Poppy and two legged dog Ruby died in October. She told Ellen, “Life, I realized just happens whether you schedule it or not, it just blew my mind this year.” Bullock recalled when her dad John was failing, she got a call from a nanny from her home that was watching her dogs.
The nanny told the actress that Ruby who had two legs had a stroke and he was beyond help because he was suffering. She tried to get her dad settled as best she could and got a flight home. Bullock who has two adopted children Louis and Laila, said things continued to get bad for her when she got home. Her dad was getting worse quickly and her other dog Poppy was having heart problems. Bullock said, “At first I thought I’m going to be fine. A week later I’m in the bathroom crying.”
Bullock continued, “the kids kept asking me if I was ok, I told them I would be ok, everything is fine.”She told Ellen, “So you know what it’s life. But you know when you lose your little ride-or-die, it makes things different.” Bullock addressed her losses earlier in the year at an ‘Elle’ event saying that she lost her dad and two dogs, so she’s in a horrible mood and didn’t feel like being nice to anyone. Bullock’s father John a World War II vet died in Birmingham, Alabama on September 18th. Bullock’s mother Helga Bullock, was from Germany and died in 2000 at the age of 58 from colon cancer.
