Many stars and politicians are sending condolences and well wishes to the Bush Family. The matriarch of the political family, Barbara Bush died at 92 on April 17th at her home in Houston, Texas. Her husband, former President George Bush held the hand of his wife of 73 years the entire day she died. Funeral services for the former first lady will be held on Saturday in Texas. Actor Arnold Schwarzengger said, “Barbara was known as being the wife of one president and the mother of another president, those who knew her, knows she could have done the job herself.”
CNN contributor Ana Navarro said, “The thought of him without her, is just so damn sad.” Former President Bill Clinton tweeted, “She had grit and grace, brains and beauty. She was fierce and feisty in support of her family and friends, her country and her causes. She showed us what an honest vibrant full life looked like.” Actor Patrick Dempsey said, “It was a pleasure to have met. Thoughts and prayer to the Bush family. Much beloved, she will be missed.” Barbara Streisand said, “Sending my sincere prayers and condolences to the Bush Family.”
Bush’s death came only a few days after it was announced that ‘her health was failing’. It was revealed that Bush had elected to not pursue any more medical treatments for her COPD and congestive heart disease. Donald Trump ordered that all government buildings fly their flags at half mast. Bush’s granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager, said “Granny was always called the enforcer, and she was the best grandmother anyone could ask for”. Hager a contributor on the NBC ‘Today Show’, shared many pictures of her grandmother. She said the family will miss her terribly, but will live by the example that she set.
