The film will deal with Graham and Bradlee’s legal battle with the federal government to be allowed to actually publish their findings in The Post. Insiders are reporting that Hanks and Streep both very revered actors, have been looking for a film to do together for over ten years. Spielberg is busy wrapping up production on two films he’s directing. He is said to be elated about this new film project, he said he has been been looking for a political drama to direct, in lieu of the current political environment. Streep has been very outspoken regarding her dislike of President Donald Trump, taking every opportunity to blast him during the award season that just ended with the Academy Awards last Sunday.

Hanks on the other hand, has been relatively silent on the current president. Hanks said he “finds a lot of value in portraying real people that did extraordinary things”. He starred in ‘Sully’ directed by Clint Eastwood in 2016 about Captain Chesley Sullenberger, who successfully landed  a plane on the Hudson River in 2009.  Hanks has been married to actress Rita Wilson for 29 years. His first wife actress Samantha Lewes is the mother of Colin Hanks who is also an actor.
