The mega popular Wendy Williams told her fans on her latest show that she has Graves’ disease, which is an auto immune disorder. The disease affects people between ages 30 and 50, Williams is 53 and revealed she’s been living with the illness for a few years already. The mother of one told her audience that she has been ordered by her doctor to take three weeks off. She also said she has hyperthyroidism, which she said is completely debilitating. Fans have been noticing something was amiss with Williams for several months already.
Fans on social media were asking what was wrong with her eye, Williams addressed that on her Wednesday show. She said, “My thyroid has been totally out of sorts, and that is the eye thing that you have all been seeing. You caught before I did.” The talk show host continued, “My thyroid and my hyperthyroid is attached also to Graves’ disease. The disease squeezing the muscles behind your eyeballs, so that is the result of what you saw with my eyes.” Williams relayed that she was well aware of her thyroid issues, but something else was going on lately.
The talk show host conveyed that she has been feeling especially tired, and extremely irritated, and even confused. She said “I felt like birds were swimming around in my head.” She knew it was time to go to a doctor and find out what was going on with her. Fans became alarmed back in October when Williams fainted during a live ‘Halloween’ show. She was wearing a heavy ‘Statue of Liberty’ costume, and said at the time the weight of the costume made her faint. Her doctor ordered her to take three full weeks off, but she said, “I’ll be back in two, I’m not an heiress, whose going to pay the bills?”
